The 2019 Ohio Randonneur flèche took place May 4-5. Two teams rode, one each from Indiana and Detroit. The Indiana team, Sagamores of the Wabash, had six riders (one couple on a tandem); they rode 361 km and faced crosswinds and around 12 hours of rain. The Detroit team, Rando Punks 2019, counted only three raindrops. As happens in events like the flèche, the Detroit team also enjoyed a consistent tailwind. One rider abandoned at the first control after entering Ohio, leaving four riders to finish. One Detroit rider drove over from Cleveland to the start. He maintained the history of having at least token representation in the Ohio flèche by a rider from Ohio.

The 2020 event is tentatively planned for the first weekend in May, the 2nd and 3rd. Put it on your long-range calendar.
